Stretcher Transportation driver ( lift 150lbs min)

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Stretcher Transportation Driver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting stretchers and patients, lifting a minimum of 150 pounds, and ensuring timely, secure, and compassionate patient transfers. Duties

  • Safely operate various types of commercial vehicles, including shuttle vans, box trucks, or specialized transport vehicles designed for patient transfer.
  • Load, secure, and unload stretchers and equipment with care, ensuring proper handling of loads exceeding 150 pounds.
  • Assist with moving patients or equipment between facilities, adhering to safety protocols and patient comfort standards.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine inspections, and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  • Follow all traffic laws, route schedules, and safety procedures during transport operations.
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff and team members to coordinate transfers smoothly and efficiently.
  • Keep accurate logs of transportation activities, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance records.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in commercial driving, shuttle driving, or delivery driver roles within healthcare or logistics environments.
  • Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle type; experience with manual transmission preferred.
  • Mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting; familiarity with forklifts or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
  • Ability to lift at least 150 pounds repeatedly while maintaining proper body mechanics; experience with moving heavy loads or freight is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with medical teams and dispatch personnel.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations related to commercial vehicle operation and patient transport.
  • Prior experience operating various commercial vehicles such as bus driving, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, or tanker trucks is beneficial but not mandatory.
