Structural Designer/Engineer

Quandel Consultants is hiring a Structural Designer/Engineer for a full-time position based in our Chicago, IL; St Charles, IL; Jackson, MI , or Minneapolis, MN office. Salary range $65,000 - $100,000 USD dependent on experience.

Quandel Consultants is an employee-owned transportation engineering firm specializing in planning and designing passenger, commuter and freight rail projects, along with highway and freight railroad bridge projects. We are currently working on multiple rail and highway bridge projects in various phases of development, including planning, environmental clearance, preliminary design, final design, and construction. We are seeking structural designers and engineers who excel working in a team environment on transportation bridge projects.

Specific job duties may include:

• Performing Highway/Railroad Bridge Inspections
• Preparing highway/railroad bridge repair/rehabilitation plans
• Computing project quantities
• Preparing plans, specifications and engineer's estimates for highway/railroad bridge projects
• Writing technical reports to support the engineering decision-making process

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• 1 to 5 years of structural design and/or inspection experience
• EIT, with the expectation of obtaining local PE or SE licensing.

Helpful Skills and Experience:

• Experience with software such as Microsoft Office Suite, Bentley Microstation
• FHWA Bridge Inspection training an added benefit.
