Structural Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing Steel structural projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role requires a strong foundation in civil engineering principles, along with proficiency in industry-standard software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Design & Analysis
  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel frameworks, beams, columns, trusses, and connections.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local design codes (AISC, BS, Eurocode, etc.).
  • Prepare load calculations, stress analysis, and stability assessments.
  • Technical Documentation
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Review and approve shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and material submittals.
  • Prepare bills of quantities and material take-offs.
  • Project Coordination
  • Collaborate with architects, mechanical/electrical engineers, and project managers for integrated designs.
  • Provide technical support to construction and fabrication teams.
  • Conduct design reviews and value engineering to optimize cost and material use.
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure all steel structures meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor fabrication and erection processes to maintain compliance with design intent.
  • Perform inspections, testing, and quality checks at workshops and sites.
  • Problem Solving & Support
  • Provide engineering solutions for design challenges, modifications, and site issues.
  • Support tendering teams by preparing technical proposals and cost estimations.
  • Health, Safety & Sustainability
  • Promote safe engineering practices in design and construction.
  • Incorporate sustainability and efficiency in structural designs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies with experience in project engineering.
  • Strong mathematical skills with experience using Mathcad for calculations.
  • Familiarity with construction practices and materials relevant to structural engineering.
  • Excellent drafting skills with a solid understanding of CAD software applications.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
