Sr Structural Engineer

Experience:

• Excellent problem solving (sequential thinking and deductive reasoning) skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Team oriented and enjoy service-oriented type work.
• Must have good overall computer skills.
• Able to work on multiple projects that are at different levels of completion
• Seeking candidates with (1) one of the following: Civil, Construction, or Structural Design.
• A seasoned Degreed Engineer with a Professional Engineering license, PE
• Must be well organized with the ability to deliver accurate information within established agreed upon time schedules.

Responsibilities:

• Evaluate a wide range of systems and conditions including building structures, civil infrastructure, premises liability, and construction site safety.
• Serve as a client facing professional, providing consistent communication, project updates, and timeline management throughout the lifecycle of each assignment.
• Conduct on site forensic investigations to collect detailed field data, including precise measurements, photographic documentation, and comprehensive observational notes to support technical analysis and reporting.
• Travel 5-10% to project sites regionally, including single day and occasional overnight assignments, to support active investigations and client needs.
• Prepare and deliver clear, defensible, and technically accurate reports within established timelines, aligned with internal quality standards and industry best practices.
• Perform expert level forensic engineering analysis related to construction incidents, structural failures, property damage, and workplace safety events.
• Conduct safety assessments involving fall protection systems, scaffolding, shoring, roofing systems, elevated platforms, rigging, material handling, and demolition operations.
• Lead failure analysis investigations across multiple materials and systems including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and composite structures, as well as damage related to weather events, moisture intrusion, fire exposure, drainage deficiencies, and workmanship issues.
• Assess compliance with applicable building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide expert witness support, including deposition and trial testimony, as required.
• Support business development efforts through occasional participation in client engagement and marketing initiatives.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

• Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials and equipment of varying weights.
• Capable of performing field work requiring bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking.
• Comfortable working in diverse environmental conditions, including exposure to varying weather, temperatures, and noise levels.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
