The structural Design Engineer will be in charge of the design, calculations, and analysis aspects of the project and the following are your duties and responsibilities:
- Deliver technical structural engineering design for assigned projects, including commercial buildings, offices, mixed‑use developments, warehouses, villas, and other structure types.
- Must have proven experience in multi-storey building design (up to G+12).
- Demonstrate versatility across all structural systems, including concrete, steel, and precast elements, regardless of personal specialisation.
- Calculate pressures, stresses, and load‑bearing capacities that a building may encounter.
- Create and test structural models using relevant computer software.
- Recommend repairs, additions, or modifications to existing structures.
- Develop construction budgets and assist in cost estimation.
- Evaluate materials for suitability in new construction projects.
- Collaborate with architects and other engineers on building design and construction.
- Ensure all structures comply with building codes, local regulations, and health & safety requirements.
- Conduct structural analysis to verify the performance of each structural element.
- Design structural systems that meet performance criteria and safety standards.
- Perform site inspections to confirm compliance with design specifications and address structural issues during construction.
- Carry out risk assessments to identify potential hazards a structure may face and design systems to mitigate those risks.
