Structural Engineer – Roles & Responsibilities (Consultancy)
1. Design & Technical Responsibilities
- Prepare structural designs for buildings, villas, warehouses, and other structures as per project requirements.
- Perform structural analysis using STAAD, ETABS, SAFE, RAM, or similar design software.
- Develop detailed design calculations, load analysis, and structural modeling.
- Prepare structural drawings (plans, sections, details) in coordination with draftsmen.
- Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes (BS, ACI, Eurocode, Dubai/Abu Dhabi Municipality standards, etc.).
- Review and approve shop drawings submitted by contractors.
- Conduct value engineering to optimize design, cost, and material usage without compromising safety.
2. Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and project managers to ensure structural requirements are aligned with overall project design.
- Attend design meetings, technical discussions, and client presentations.
- Communicate design intent clearly to contractors and site teams.
- Provide technical support and respond to RFI (Request for Information) from contractors.
3. Site Support & Supervision (Consultancy Role)
- Conduct periodic site visits to ensure construction works comply with approved structural drawings and standards.
- Review structural inspection reports, material test results, concrete mix designs, and method statements.
- Identify discrepancies on site and issue site instructions or NCRs when required.
- Provide solutions for structural issues encountered during construction.
4. Documentation & Approvals
- Prepare structural calculation reports, technical specifications, and submission documents for authorities.
- Coordinate submissions with municipality/authority portals (Dubai Municipality, DDA, Trakhees, Sharjah, etc.).
- Respond to authority comments and ensure timely approval of structural drawings.
- Maintain proper documentation of design revisions, correspondences, and approvals.
5. Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure structural safety, durability, and stability in all designs.
- Follow QMS procedures, company standards, and engineering best practices.
- Ensure compliance with UAE building codes and international standards.
- Participate in internal quality reviews and cross-checking of structural designs.
6. Project Management Responsibilities
- Assist in planning project timelines related to structural deliverables.
- Provide BOQ inputs and estimate structural quantities for costing.
- Track progress of design submissions and approvals to ensure deadlines are met.
- Support senior engineers or project managers in technical reporting.
7. Client & Contractor Interaction
- Present design concepts and structural solutions to clients.
- Attend coordination meetings with contractors to clarify structural design requirements.
- Provide professional recommendations for material selection and construction methodologies.

Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
