Structural Fitter

Requirements:

• Trade Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical, Fabrication, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience as a Structural Fitter in a fabrication or construction environment.
• Strong knowledge of steel structures, fabrication drawings, and fitting techniques.
• Proficient in the use of measuring instruments, power tools, and lifting equipment.
• Ability to work from drawings with minimal supervision.
• Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
• Physically fit and able to work in various site conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in oil & gas, industrial, or construction projects.
• Basic welding or rigging knowledge.
• Familiarity with quality inspection procedures and tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication sketches to determine layout and assembly requirements.
• Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components such as beams, columns, frames, and supports.
• Perform marking, drilling, grinding, and tack welding to assemble steel structures.
• Use measuring tools, levels, and other alignment equipment to ensure accurate fit-up.
• Collaborate with welders and fabricators to ensure proper joint preparation and weld alignment.
• Ensure all fabrication and fitting activities comply with safety standards and quality procedures.
• Inspect completed assemblies for dimensional accuracy and quality compliance.
• Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain them in good working condition.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and contribute to achieving daily production targets.
