• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and structural plans
• Mark and prepare steel plates and sections for fitting
• Fit, align, and assemble structural components before welding
• Ensure proper dimensions, tolerances, and alignment
• Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments
• Perform tack welding (if qualified)
• Check for distortions, gaps, and defects
• Assist welders during final welding
• Repair or modify structural parts when required
