Structural Steel Fitter

Position: Structural Steel/Small Parts Fitter

Shift: Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm. with overtime possible and may be required.

Pay: Based on Experience. The beginning hourly rate will be directly related to experience, skill, and quality of work. This will be a first shift position (7:00am – 3:30pm).

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a heavy plate and structural steel fabrication shop located in New Castle, PA. Candidate is responsible for reading blueprints, layout and fit of material. Must have some welding experience.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report any hazards associated with the equipment to the Supervisor
Maintain a level of output that will minimize production delays
Clean and maintain an orderly work area
Assist other employees when needed

NECESSARY SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret Blueprints

Using Acetylene Torches make accurate and clean cuts to steel
Must have knowledge of basic math skills
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
Must be trained to safely operate overhead crane
Must work well with others
Must be detail-oriented
Must be willing to work overtime and weekends when required

PREFERRED SKILLS
Heavy fabrication experience
Worked previously as a fitter

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
