Structural Technical Engineer

We are seeking a highly competent Structural Technical Engineer with strong expertise in reinforcement detailing, Bar Bending Schedule (BBS), and structural coordination.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and coordinating structural engineering deliverables including shop drawings, rebar detailing, and technical submissions, ensuring full compliance with project specifications and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, review, and finalize structural shop drawings and rebar detailing in line with approved IFC drawings.
  • Develop and verify Bar Bending Schedules (BBS) with high accuracy and coordination.
  • Ensure all submissions comply with QCS, BS/EN, ACI codes, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with consultants, site teams, and subcontractors for technical clarifications and approvals.
  • Review structural drawings for constructability, conflicts, and value engineering opportunities.
  • Provide technical support to site teams during execution (reinforcement, concrete works, etc.).
  • Prepare and respond to RFIs, technical submittals, and compliance statements.
  • Liaise with Quantity Surveyors for quantity take-offs and variation support.
  • Monitor and track approval status for drawings, RFIs, and submittals.
  • Guide and supervise structural draftsmen to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Coordinate with suppliers for material approvals and technical documentation.

Key Requirements

  • Strong experience in structural rebar detailing and BBS preparation.
  • Proficiency in detailing software such as:
  • CADS RC
  • ASD
  • RGS
  • ArmaCAD
  • or equivalent
  • Excellent knowledge of reinforcement detailing standards and best practices.
  • Ability to produce accurate, coordinated, and construction-ready drawings.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles and site execution.
  • Experience in villa and building construction projects is preferred.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in structural technical office or similar role
  • Professional certification (e.g., UPDA/MMUP) is an advantage

Mandatory Requirements (Qatar)

  • Must be currently available in Qatar
  • Valid QID (Qatar ID) required
  • NOC (No Objection Certificate) for transfer is mandatory
