Key responsibilities
- Counseling: Conduct one-on-one or group sessions to address academic, social, and emotional concerns.
- Academic guidance: Help students with course selection, develop study plans, and set realistic academic and career goals.
- Career development: Provide information and support for college applications, scholarships, and career exploration.
- Assessment: Use aptitude tests and other assessments to evaluate students' strengths, interests, and abilities.
- Collaboration: Work with parents, teachers, and administrators to develop and implement strategies to support student success.
- Support programs: Develop and facilitate programs addressing topics like bullying, substance abuse, and mental health.
- Referrals: Connect students and families with external resources, such as psychologists or other mental health professionals.
- Record keeping: Maintain accurate and confidential records of student sessions and progress.
