OVERVIEW

Church at the Cross is excited to announce its Summer Student Ministry Internship Program! This internship is designed to equip and develop future ministry leaders by supporting the mission of CATC Student Ministry. Interns will gain hands-on experience working with middle and high school students, leaders, and staff in a fast-paced, relational, and gospel-centered environment. This is a great opportunity to grow spiritually, develop leadership skills, and invest in the next generation of students as they learn to follow Jesus.


I. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A genuine heart for serving the Lord and a passion for students
  • Strong interest in student ministry, leadership, or pastoral ministry
  • Desire to help students grow in their faith and take next steps spiritually
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to serve with a “whatever it takes” attitude
  • Strong follow-through and ability to complete tasks with excellence
  • Ability to build healthy, appropriate relationships with students, parents, volunteers, and staff
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Teachable spirit and a willingness to receive coaching and feedback

II. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with weekly student ministry gatherings, services, and small groups
  • Help lead and facilitate small group discussions under the direction of ministry staff
  • Support student ministry events, outreach opportunities, and special programs
  • Assist with setup, teardown, logistics, and preparation for services and events
  • Support the planning and development of weekly social media posts, including content creation and idea generation.
  • Build relational connections with students in safe, appropriate, and intentional ways
  • Support and serve alongside student ministry leaders and volunteers
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and planning sessions as required
  • Model Christ-like leadership and integrity in all interactions


General Expectations:

  • Teachable, enthusiastic, and eager to grow in leadership and ministry skills
  • Maintain flexible working hours based on ministry needs
  • Attend regular church, school, and team staff meetings as required
  • Communicate clearly regarding schedules, responsibilities, and progress
  • Complete projects and responsibilities within reasonable timeframes
  • Proficient with basic technology and communication tools
  • Aligned with Church at the Cross vision, values, and policies
  • Works well within a team-based ministry environment
  • Must pass a fingerprint background check


This position is expected to be on campus Sunday from 7:30am-1:00pm, and at least 2 other days Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm. Plan on working 15-20hrs per week. This is a 12 week internship.
