Position Summary:
The Computer Support Technician will be responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting microcomputer hardware and software. The position will also be responsible for network and phone cable installation. The Computer Operator/Support Technician will install, configure, and troubleshoot our phone and voice-mail system.
Primary Duties:
- Provide software and hardware technical support for all of RSU’s campuses;
- Installation and programming of telephones;
- Providing voice mail support;
- Installation of telephone cabling;
- Installation of network cabling
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Exceptional customer service skills are required;
- Experience using, installing, and troubleshooting computer applications;
- Ability to provide hardware technical support.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent or experience in a similar position;
- Experience with Windows and Mac Operating Systems.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality and security of our resources;
- Ability to meet deadlines while providing excellent customer service;
- Attention to detail and organized;
- Ability to handle multiple projects and assignments.
Reports to: Director of Information Technology
Hours: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 A.M. Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends as needed.
