Position Overview:
Are you ready to ignite a passion for learning in students and support their unique educational journey? We are looking for dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our team, leading classes from preschool through 5th grade. As a substitute, you will play a vital role in maintaining the continuity of learning in our school community.

Key Responsibilities:

• Follow lesson plans provided by teachers and ensure proper follow-up communication with the teacher afterward.
• Supervise students during transitions and recess.
• Prepare work documents when necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in classrooms.
• Collaborate with other staff and integrate quickly into new classroom environments.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Native or near-native fluency in English and/or French.
• Experience teaching in primary schools or working with primary school-aged children.
• A teaching degree is preferable.
• Previous experience as a substitute teacher is a plus.
• Availability for short-notice assignments (when possible, assignments are provided in advance).
• Strong organizational skills, initiative, kindness, patience, and a proactive approach.
• Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
• Basic computer skills.
• Central Background Registry number in Oregon.

Work Schedule:
L’Etoile is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Substitute hours will vary based on the needs of the school and your availability.
