Teacher: Middle School Family & Consumer Science (FACS) Teacher

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Building Principal, the Family & Consurmer Science (FACS) Teacher will provide guidance and instructional experiences that are academically and developmentally appropriate for each student assigned to that classroom. The FACS Teacher is responsible for developing curriculum that showcases the multidisciplinary field focusing on practical life skills and knowledge to help individuals and families thrive

KPERS participation is mandatory for this position.

Additional Information:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with current Kansas Teaching license with high school family and consumer science endorsement is required.
• Establish and enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom they are responsible.
• Establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects, and communicate those objectives to students.
• Communicate clear objectives to students for all lessons, units, and projects.
• Assess the progress of students on a regular basis, provide progress reports as required and communicate with parents regularly.
