Substitute Teacher

Location: Melbourne, FL
Schedule: Approximately 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday–Friday (hours may vary slightly based on classroom needs)

Pay Rate: Commensurate with experience

We are searching for a high-energy, adaptable, and nurturing Substitute/Float Teacher who brings their love for children and teaching into everything they do. This position will primarily support our 3–4 year old classrooms, while occasionally assisting in other age groups as needed (12 months – 4 years).

The ideal candidate is experienced in childcare, flexible, patient, dependable, and committed to helping children grow socially, emotionally, physically, and academically in a safe and engaging preschool environment.

Your Role Will Include

✔ Working primarily in 3–4 year old classrooms, with occasional support in other age groups
✔ Assisting with daily routines including learning activities, meals, transitions, outdoor play, and nap time
✔ Supporting lead teachers in maintaining a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment
✔ Encouraging positive behavior and supporting children’s social-emotional development
✔ Building nurturing and supportive relationships with children and staff
✔ Adapting quickly to meet classroom needs when coverage is required
✔ Helping foster children’s intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth

What We’re Looking For

⭐ Professional experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
⭐ Confidence and flexibility to work across different classrooms as needed
⭐ A positive, patient, and team-oriented mindset
⭐ Strong communication skills and initiative in classroom support
⭐ Passion for early childhood education and child development

Required Qualifications

• Prior childcare experience is required
• Must have completed the DCF 45-Hour Introductory Childcare Training
• Must pass required background screening and maintain state training compliance
