Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons based on established curriculum plans or teacher instructions.
- Implement lesson plans effectively, ensuring continuity of instruction and student engagement.
- Manage classroom behavior and foster a respectful, inclusive environment conducive to learning for children of diverse backgrounds, including those with autism or special needs.
- Support classroom management by maintaining discipline and encouraging positive interactions among students.
- Communicate clearly with students to facilitate understanding and participation in activities.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual learners, including preschoolers and children requiring additional support in childhood development.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and uphold school policies.
- Assist with basic curriculum development and lesson planning when needed to enhance instructional quality.
- Uphold safety standards and ensure a secure classroom environment at all times.
Qualifications
- Prior classroom experience or childcare experience is highly preferred, especially with children in preschool or early childhood settings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with students with autism or special education needs is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, parents, and caregivers.
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and Montessori methods is desirable.
- Background in early childhood education or childhood development is a plus.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and grade levels.
- Passion for working with children and a commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 1 – 40 per week
