La Luz Early Childhood Center is hiring On-Call Substitute Teachers to support our infant, toddler, preschool, and Pre-K classrooms. This role is ideal for early childhood professionals seeking flexible scheduling. Short-notice or pre-scheduled shifts

Job Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage for assistant teachers as needed
• Support daily routines, curriculum, and supervision across age groups
• Maintain a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment
• Follow La Luz ECC policies, licensing regulations, and classroom procedures

Qualifications

• 45-hour Early Childhood course preferred (strong candidates without it may be considered)
• Previous early childhood classroom experience preferred
• Inclusion training a plus
• FOCUS training/experience a plus
• Reliable, flexible, and comfortable working in multiple classrooms in a variety of ages

Continuing Education Requirements

• 24+ hours/week worked: 24 hours of CE annually
• Under 24 hours/week worked: 12 hours of CE annually

Workplace Requirements

• Pre-employment drug screening required
• Ongoing monthly random drug testing
• Drug-free workplace (including cannabis-free)

Pay & Benefits

• Starting pay: $19.00/hour minimum (no experience or education required)
• Higher pay based on education, credentials, and experience
