Summer Camp and Kid’s Night Out Counselor

Position Overview

West Lake Country Club is looking for enthusiastic, dependable, and positive individuals to join our team as Summer Camp and Kid’s Night Out Counselors. Counselors play an important role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for our members’ children throughout the summer.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with kids, staying active, and helping create memorable youth experiences through games, activities, and daily programming.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and actively engage with children throughout the day
• Assist with games, crafts, sports, and themed activities
• Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive camp environment
• Support the Camp Lead with daily schedules and activity setup and cleanup
• Encourage participation and positive behavior among children
• Ensure child safety and follow all club policies and procedures
• Communicate professionally with parents, members, and staff
• Help manage transitions between activities and keep children organized

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Valid driver’s license required
• High school diploma or GED required; college students or coursework in education, recreation, child development, or related fields preferred
• Experience working with children preferred (babysitting, coaching, tutoring, camps, etc.
• Summer camp or youth program experience preferred but not required
• CPR and/or Lifeguard certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Friendly, patient, and energetic personality
• Flexible availability, working occasional evenings for Kid’s Night Out on Friday/Saturday nights.
• Comfortable working outdoors in summer weather

Availability:

• Monday-Friday, Late May-Early August
• 8 am - 9 pm (hours vary based off scheduling)

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
