Position Summary:

The Summer Camp Counselor position offers an exciting opportunity for energetic, responsible individuals to contribute to a vibrant, child-centered summer camp environment. At Bennett Day Camp, camp counselors bring enthusiasm, flexibility, and creativity to their daily work with children, supporting a fun, safe, and engaging experience while making a positive contribution to the broader camp community. The Art Camp Counselor supports creative expression through visual arts and other creative projects. This position is ideal for students with interests or coursework in art, design, theater, or related creative fields who enjoy working with children.

Requirements:

Job Qualifications:

• Collaborative mindset; adept at working with teams and open to new ideas
• Prior experience working with children in group settings (camp, childcare, babysitting, education, etc.)
• High energy, patience, and enthusiasm
• Strong communication and teamwork skill
• Adaptability and a positive, flexible attitude
• Interest in supporting a fun, inclusive camp community
• Background or interest in visual arts, design, theater, or creative disciplines
• Ability to support both structured and open-ended projects

Job Requirements:

• Physical strength to independently lift 15-20 lbs
• Fluency in written and oral language in English
• Ability to oversee and ensure the safety of children in and out of the classroom

Job Specifications:

• Leading and supporting art projects and creative activities
• Encouraging self-expression and creativity in campers
• Preparing, organizing, and maintaining art materials
• Supporting daily camp routines and transitions
• Participation in staff training and planning meetings
• Responsibilities are not all-inclusive and will include other duties as assigned
