Duties
- Lead and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games to ensure an exciting experience for all campers
- Maintain a safe and inclusive environment by enforcing camp rules and practicing effective behavior management techniques
- Provide attentive supervision and support to children of diverse ages and backgrounds, including those with special education needs or requiring additional assistance
- Implement classroom management strategies to promote positive interactions and foster teamwork among campers
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow health protocols to ensure camper safety at all times
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to plan daily schedules, special events, and themed activities that align with camp goals
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress or concerns in a professional manner
Skills
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to guide children’s behavior positively
- Experience in first aid certification and knowledge of health safety procedures
- Background in special education or working with children with diverse learning needs
- Proven teaching or tutoring experience, especially in early childhood education or childcare settings
- Enthusiasm for sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities that engage children’s interests
- Ability to manage large groups effectively while maintaining individual attention when needed
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members, campers, and parents confidently
