About Spirit Pros

For over 30 years, Spirit Pros has run high-energy themed summer day camps for kids ages 6–12 throughout Fairfax County. Our camps focus on confidence, teamwork, creativity, and fun, while providing a safe and encouraging environment where kids can grow.

Our counselors are more than activity leaders — they are mentors and role models who help campers build friendships, learn new skills, and have unforgettable summer experiences.

This role is a great opportunity for high school juniors/seniors and college students who want to gain experience working with children while developing leadership, teaching, and coaching skills.

Camps You May Work In

Performing Arts & Athletics Camps

(Relevant experience required)

  • Song & Dance Performing Arts Camp (ages 6–12)
  • Ultimate Gymnastics, Cheer & Dance (ages 6–12)
  • Elite Cheer & Dance (ages 6–12)

Activity & Specialty Camps

(No prior specialty experience required)

  • Ultimate Games & Teambuilding Camp (ages 6–12)
  • Game Masters & Game Show Challenge (ages 6–12)
  • Girls Only: Games, Balloons & Crafts Camp (ages 6–12)
  • Academy of Magic & Balloon Sculptures (ages 6–12)
  • Amazing Acts Circus Camp (ages 6–12)
  • Circus Arts & Balloon Sculptures (ages 6–12)

Counselors may be placed at different Fairfax County schools or recreation centers depending on camp needs.

Camp Counselors help create a safe, organized, and fun environment where kids can thrive.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervising campers ages 6–12
  • Leading or assisting with games, activities, and performances
  • Encouraging teamwork, participation, and confidence
  • Ensuring camper safety and well-being
  • Managing camper behavior in a positive and respectful way
  • Helping with daily camp setup, cleanup, and organization
  • Communicating with the Camp Director and fellow counselors
  • Serving as a positive role model for campers

We are looking for applicants who:

If you are someone others describe as reliable and accountable, this role will be a great fit.

Required

  • Age 17 or older
  • Experience working with children (babysitting, coaching, tutoring, camps, etc.)
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Reliable transportation to Fairfax County camp locations
  • Professionalism and strong reliability

Preferred (for performing arts camps)

Experience in:

  • Dance
  • Cheer
  • Gymnastics
  • Performing arts
  • Coaching youth athletics
