Summer Camp Nurse (RN) – Per Diem

Sunrise Day Camp is the world’s only full-summer day camp dedicated to children with cancer and their siblings, ages 3½–16. Campers enjoy a traditional camp experience while returning home each night, and all programs are provided completely free of charge to families.

We are seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Wellness Center team for Summer 2026. Nurses play a vital role in supporting the health, safety, and well-being of campers and staff in a fun, collaborative camp environment.

Role Overview

• Provide routine first aid and care for campers and staff
• Administer prescribed and OTC medications
• Monitor and respond to illness or injury throughout the camp day
• Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with NY State/NYC DOH regulations
• Complete incident reports as needed
• Communicate with parents when appropriate
• Implement medical protocols and communicable disease precautions
• Work alongside other nurses and Wellness Center Coordinators

Schedule & Commitment

• Camp dates: June 30 – August 14, 2026
• Mandatory training sessions held in June (dates TBD)
• Per diem role

Qualifications

• Active NY State RN License (required)
• Current BLS / AED / CPR certification
• Pediatric, pediatric oncology, or school nursing experience preferred
