Summer Camp Staff – Group Leaders & Activity Specialists (Summer 2026)

Shibley Day Camp is hiring energetic and enthusiastic Summer Camp Staff for the 2026 season! We are currently seeking Group Leaders and Activity Specialists who are passionate about working with children and creating a fun, engaging summer experience.

Open Roles:

Group Leaders

(College graduates or upperclassmen education majors preferred)

  • Oversee and lead a group of campers
  • Supervise counselors and ensure a positive group dynamic
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for parents
  • Support daily camp operations and activities

Activity Specialists

(High school students, college students, and graduates welcome)

  • Lead and teach activities such as athletics, arts & crafts, theater, dance, and more
  • Engage campers in structured and creative programming
  • Help create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment

Additional Details

  • Camp is closed weekends and Friday, July 3rd
  • Staff orientation is required prior to the start of camp (schedule varies by role)
  • Must be available for the full summer season

Company Overview
Shibley Day Camp is a vibrant, traditional day camp nestled within a lush, shaded campground in Roslyn, Long Island. We are dedicated to providing a fun, safe, and enriching summer experience for children of all ages through engaging activities and meaningful connections.

Duties

  • Lead and supervise groups of children, ensuring their safety and engagement throughout the day
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate a variety of camp activities including sports, arts, theater, and outdoor adventures
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to ensure smooth daily operations and uphold camp policies

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp environments
  • Background in childhood development is a plus
  • Passion for working with children and creating engaging, safe activities that promote growth
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, sports coaching, theater arts, or other specialized areas is highly desirable

Pay: From $3,000.00 per month
