ENCI Ascend Youth STEAM Summer Enrichment Camp is a faith-based summer enrichment program of Eagles' Nest Cathedral International, serving students in grades K–8. Our mission is to inspire and equip young people through high-energy, hands-on learning in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM)—all rooted in biblical principles. We are looking for passionate, dedicated educators to help us deliver an exceptional summer experience.

Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Summer Camp Teacher to lead STEAM-focused instruction for campers in grades K–8. The ideal candidate is someone who loves working with children, thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and is excited about making learning fun. You will develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that spark curiosity and build critical thinking skills across STEAM disciplines.

This is a seasonal position running June 1 through July 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate STEAM lessons and hands-on activities for assigned grade-level groups
• Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment that promotes learning, creativity, and exploration
• Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and constructive discipline techniques in accordance with camp policies
• Maintain sight and sound supervision of all assigned campers at all times
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, camp aides, and the Camp Director to coordinate weekly themes, activities, and field trip preparation
• Participate in daily camp activities including morning assemblies, devotionals, outdoor activities, and special events
• Assess camper engagement and adapt instruction to meet diverse learning needs and developmental levels
• Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and leadership regarding camper progress or concerns
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers during instructional time, transitions, meals, and recreational activities
• Accompany campers on field trips and provide active supervision during off-site activities
• Adhere to all camp policies including the Standards of Conduct, Touch Policy, Professional Conduct guidelines, and Dress Policy

QualificationsRequired

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in an educational, childcare, camp, or youth ministry setting
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage children of varying ages (grades K–8)
• Ability to pass a background check and provide professional references
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp start)
• Reliable transportation
• Must be available for the full program duration (June 1 – July 31, 2026)

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related discipline
• Current or former classroom teaching experience (K–8)
• Experience in one or more STEAM areas (science labs, coding/technology, engineering projects, visual/performing arts, mathematics enrichment)

Work Environment

ENCI Ascend operates in a faith-based environment as a ministry of Eagles' Nest Cathedral International. While no specific religious belief is required for employment, all staff are expected to respect and support the spiritual components of the program, maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, and serve as positive role models for campers. This is a substance-free and profanity-free campus.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Staff should be prepared for physical activity including standing, walking, and supervising outdoor recreation in summer heat.

Pay: $15.00 per hour
