Summer Internship Opportunities at The Arc of Essex County

Looking for a meaningful way to kick off your career this summer? The Arc of Essex County is welcoming current college students (or recent college grads) for paid internships supporting people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (IDD). You’ll gain hands-on experience, meet a great team, and finish the summer with strong, resume-ready skills.

Business Operations Intern (HR & Finance) - 1 position

• When: Jun 1, 2026 – Aug 7, 2026 (20 hours/week)
• You’ll help with: Hands-on projects across HR and Finance—job description updates, recruiting coordination, vendor/contract organization, and basic finance operations.
• Good fit if you’re: A current college student or recent grad in Business Administration, Human Resources, Public Administration, or a related field.
• You’ll build: Communication and project skills, comfort working with confidential info, gain stronger Excel/Office skills—plus a behind-the-scenes look at how a mission-driven nonprofit runs.

• Pay: $20/hour

Recreation & Leisure Intern - 2 positions

• When: Jun 1, 2026 – Aug 14, 2026 (20 hours/week)
• Where you’ll be: Summer Day Camp Program or StudioArc Program (Day Services/Creative Programming) - you’ll be part of a supportive team and make direct impact.
• You’ll help with: Assisting in the planning and facilitation of inclusive activities, supporting participants’ day‑to‑day engagement, and gaining hands‑on experience with program operations such as intake procedures, attendance tracking, billing processes, and transportation documentation.
• Good fit if you’re: A current student or recent grad in Therapeutic Recreation, Art Education, Health & Fitness, Special Education, Recreation Therapy/Administration, Child Development, or a related field.

• Pay: $20/hour
