Summer Music Camp Instructor
Music on Magnolia is looking for a summer camp instructor to help lead our weekly music camps throughout June and July.
Camp hours are Monday–Friday from 9:00 AM–3:00 PM. Pay is $600 per camp week.
This role is for someone who can lead groups of students ages 7–13, demonstrate the basics of piano/keys, guitar, bass, drums, and voice, while helping beginner musicians prepare two songs for a performance by the end of the week.

Responsibilities:
Leading weekly summer music camps for students ages 7–13.
Teaching beginner-friendly parts on guitar, bass, drums, piano/keys, and voice.
Helping students learn simple versions of songs quickly and confidently.
Choosing, simplifying, transcribing, or arranging song parts based on each student’s ability level.
Creating basic chord charts, lyric sheets, or other materials needed for camp rehearsals.
Organizing students into bands and assigning appropriate parts.
Leading group rehearsals and keeping students focused, engaged, and moving toward the final performance.
Helping each camp group prepare a two-song performance by the end of the week for their families.
Creating a fun, encouraging, and organized camp environment.
Managing group behavior in a way that keeps camp positive, productive, and safe.
Taking appropriate camp photos throughout the day and providing them to admin so they can send daily updates to camper families.
Communicating with Music on Magnolia staff about student progress, camp needs, and performance preparation.
Helping with setup, cleanup, instrument organization, and maintaining a clean studio space.
Requirements:
Experience working with children, preferably in a group setting.
Ability to demonstrate beginner-level parts on guitar, bass, drums, piano/keys, and voice.
Ability to simplify songs and create basic chord charts or student materials.
Experience playing in bands, gigging, rehearsing, arranging, or leading musical groups.
Strong group leadership and classroom management skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, energy, reliability, and a genuine enjoyment of working with children.
Music degree, music education background, or current music studies preferred, but not required.
