Reports to:

Youth Services Manager Temporary: 6 weeks (July 2026 to August 2026) Schedule: In-person 20 hours per week (Weekends and evenings as needed) Pay Rate: $18.50 / hr

ORGANIZATIONAL/PROGRAM BACKGROUND: Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) was established in 1994 and incorporated as a formal non-profit collaborative in 2000 to address the socio-economic conditions impacting low-income families living in the City of Los Angeles, with a focus on Westlake and surrounding communities, and expanding to Koreatown in 2024. With the mission of catalyzing partnerships to systemically address the multiple challenges facing low-income families, CCNP works with its partners to help families create pathways to financial security and economic opportunity through our FamilySource Center (FSC) programs, financial asset building programs and other signature programs. Position Summary: The Summer Youth Ambassador is responsible for implementing a “no wrong door” approach to coordinate the delivery of services and client referrals that result in access to CCNP programs. This position will also provide program and administrative support to CCNP partners and staff to ensure all programs are implemented effectively, efficiently, and consistently in accordance with grant requirements and the mission of CCNP. Summer Youth Ambassador will perform a broad range of duties spanning the full employment cycle, including, but not limited to providing expert counsel, support and/or monitoring of the following: 1. Support the FSC’s college corner, which serves as a hub of academic support and resources for students; 2. Provide direct knowledge and resources regarding College applications, programs, and experiences, 3. Utilize the LAUSD student educational assessment to develop lessons plans; 4. Provide group and individual tutoring in English and math; 5. Oversee and coordinate peer support/tutoring groups; 6. Provide students with homework support to complete assignments, prepare for tests and improve academic skills; 7. Research and identify financial aid resources including scholarships, federal work study and AB540 financial support; 8. Update and incorporate resources for the college corner; 9. Coordinate and execute college field trips and special events; 10. Assist students in navigating the college admissions process and completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA); 11. Maintain accurate academic records and document follow-up efforts ○ Student files 1 | Page

Academic achievement plan ○ Student attendance ○ Student progress 12. Collaborate with key staff including case managers, LAUSD pupil service attendance counselors, partners and local schools; 13. Prepare information for monthly reporting; 14. Attend and actively participate in team meetings, in-service trainings, staff development meetings and all required FSC meetings and trainings; 15. Participate in the planning and coordination of yearly events for youth and their families, including potluck dinners and dances, summer camp, community resource fairs and holiday events; and

16. Additional tasks, projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor and executive leadership. 1.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Current college student in good academic standing, must possess strong leadership qualities and have the ability to function as a team player; 2. Ability to maintain appropriate, professional boundaries and confidentiality; 3. Strong organizational and verbal/written communication skills; 4. Excellent work ethic and proven ability to multitask;

5. Excellent work ethic and ability to work under pressure, address multiple priorities and meet deadlines;

6. Ability to maintain appropriate, professional boundaries and confidentiality;

7. Excellent organizational and administrative skills with the ability to complete high quality and timely documentation

8. Culturally competent in working with the public and individuals with various cultural and economic backgrounds and abilities.

9. The ability to read, write and speak in English is required, and the ability to speak Spanish and/or Korean is preferred, given that many of the targeted families are monolingual in Spanish and/or Korean. Cultural sensitivity is required.

10. Friendly, dependable and flexible team player with the ability to use tact and diplomacy in communication and adapt to changes in a busy work environment.

11. Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); Windows Operating System.

EDUCATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:

● High School diploma or equivalent

● Enrolled in College/ University

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Background check and TB test clearance.

● Must be available to work 20 hours per week. Weekends and evenings as needed, Schedule may be subject to change.

COVID-19 Vaccine required for all employees Central City Neighborhood Partners has implemented a mandatory vaccination policy effective October 1, 2021 requiring COVID-19 vaccinations for all employees (with approved religious and medical accommodations).
