Summertime Choreographer/Dance Instructor

Job: Summertime Choreographer/Dance Instructor for 5-week Teen Shakespeare Workshop/Production in Winters, CA

Choreographer/Dance Instructor: Work with professional director and music director in our 5- week performing workshop for teen actors and preteen dancers that culminates in an outdoor production of Twelfth Night, with music on July 16, 17, & 18, 2026.

Under the direction of our Director and working with Musical Director, Choreographer will choreograph and teach dances based on a folk or cultural dance form to a team of 15-20 preteen dancers; will work with Acting Coaches to provide movement training and dance for 15-25 teen actors; and will conduct or organize all dance rehearsals for an outdoor production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, with music, on the Winters Park Playground Stage, on July 16, 17, & 18, 2026.

Skills and experience required include:

• Impressive dance skills, playful spirit, strong work ethic. Able to work enthusiastically with a team to develop artistic vision.
• Able to to assemble, create, arrange, rehearse, and direct dances for a show
• Experience teaching dance and motivating young performers.
• Choreographer/Dance Instructor stipend is $3,500- 4,000/workshop, based on experience.

Workshop dates: June 14- July 18- Workshop hours: 6:30-9:30 pm, Sun- Thurs evenings. Choreographer leads dance rehearsals outside of regular rehearsal times, (possible dance schedule- 3:30-5PM on Tu/Th for preteen dancers, and 5-6 pm on Mon/Wed for teens)
Choreographer/DI attends all Production Meetings: Sundays at 5 PM; and all rehearsals , and performance weekend, Thurs, Fri. and Sat., July 16, 17 and 18.
