Summertime Teacher Aide/Cleaner

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Aide/Custodian to join our team for July & August

In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers by preparing the children's lunches, cleaning the classrooms/bathrooms and surrounding areas as well as filling in with the children as needed. You will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our children, staff, and families.

• In charge of the Food distribution to all classrooms.
• Perform daily cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and dusting to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
• Ensure all restrooms are stocked and sanitized regularly.
• Conduct routine inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards.
• Assist with setting up spaces for events or activities as required.
• Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies, ensuring they are in good working order.

Requirements

• Proven experience in custodial or facilities maintenance roles is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with staff and families.
• NY Food Handlers Certification- or willing to get certified

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings or similar environments is preferred
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students
