Superintendent – Greater Pittsburgh Area

The Superintendent is responsible for managing and coordinating all on-site construction activities for retail projects in the Pittsburgh market. This role provides hands-on field leadership, ensures safety and quality standards are met, and drives schedules to deliver projects on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily on-site construction operations, supervising Elford crews, subcontractors, and on-site support staff
• Maintain clear, professional communication with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and internal leadership
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
• Drive schedules and coordinate work sequencing to meet fast-paced retail timelines
• Coordinate inspections, testing, permits, materials, equipment, and manpower
• Enforce quality control standards and oversee correction of any deficient or non-conforming work
• Review subcontractor scopes to confirm full coverage and partner with the Project Manager prior to award and final payment
• Participate in job meetings, field operations meetings, and company training programs
• Support project billing and subcontractor payment processes through accurate field documentation

Education & Experience

• Trade school, apprenticeship program, Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of construction experience, including at least 5 years in a Superintendent or Foreman role
• Retail construction experience strongly preferred
