Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various medical specialties and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. This role requires proficiency in both clinical and administrative aspects of medicine, including the use of EHR systems and EMR systems, as well as experience in patient assessment and management across diverse medical fields.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical oversight for psychiatric evaluations, treatment plans, and medication management.
- Supervise and mentor psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, therapists, and other clinical staff.
- Conduct regular clinical case reviews and provide guidance on complex cases.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical performance and adherence to practice standards.
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management for patients as needed.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and coordinate care with therapists and case managers.
- Respond to clinical emergencies and provide support in crisis intervention situations.
- Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, medical board regulations, and HIPAA standards.
- Lead or participate in internal audits, chart reviews, and clinical quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation for all patient interactions.
- Develop, implement, and update clinical policies and protocols in alignment with current standards of care.
- Ensure staff are trained on updated procedures and protocols.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership to align clinical operations with organizational goals.
- Coordinate care with external providers, hospitals, and emergency services when appropriate.
- Support integration of care between mental health, primary care, and substance use services.
- Provide ongoing education and training for clinical staff on new treatments, medications, and industry developments.
- Serve as a resource for staff regarding psychiatric medications, treatment planning, and diagnostic clarification.
- Monitor and address potential clinical and legal risks.
- Ensure appropriate documentation for liability protection and continuity of care.
- Participate in incident reviews and adverse event investigations.
- Offer clinical input into organizational planning, program development, and service expansion.
- Represent the practice in professional settings, regulatory reviews, and community health initiatives.
- Ensure all clinical services meet evidence-based guidelines and best practices in psychiatry and behavioral health.
- Review and co-sign documentation by mid-level providers (e.g., Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants) as required by state regulations.
Experience
- Proven experience in a clinical setting with a focus on areas such as Psychiatry, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, or Emergency Medicine.
- Familiarity with medical imaging techniques including CT and mammography.
- Experience with critical care settings such as ICU or PACU is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, coding (CPT/ICD), and documentation standards is essential.
- Background in specialties like Psychiatry.
