A housekeeping supervisor's responsibilities include:

  • Managing staff: Assigning duties, creating schedules, and providing training
  • Ensuring quality: Inspecting rooms and public areas, and ensuring they meet quality standards
  • Maintaining safety: Ensuring staff use chemicals and equipment safely, and that maintenance processes comply with standards
  • Managing supplies: Maintaining inventories of cleaning supplies, linens, and room essentials
  • Handling customer requests: Responding to guest requests and complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • Handling emergencies: Handling all housekeeping emergencies
  • Communicating: Communicating expectations and suggestions clearly
  • Reporting: Reporting damages, employee tardiness, and absences
  • Participating in heavy cleaning: Participating in heavy cleaning tasks as needed
