Human Resources Supervisor

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Provide, as required, supervisory support, direction and hands-on involvement to meet the need of JATV and the HR functions as follows:
  • Assume leadership role in maintaining positive employee relations; including policy development and implementation.
  • Provide and coordinate functional support to employees on all shifts.
  • Consistently interpret and implement all company policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership and supervision to salaried non-exempt staff in HR Department.
  • Provide leadership to Team Leaders/Supervisors/Managers regarding employee related performance/behavior issues.
  • Assess, communicate, and initiate corrective actions as required to resolve workplace related morale or other issues.
  • Assist as needed with development and administration of all training and professional development activities as well as legal and ethical compliance program and workforce diversity. This also includes all Global Production Center (GPC) activities.
  • Attend or lead birthday, skip level and other focus group meetings as required.
  • Assist HR manager in leadership role regarding health, safety, and environmental management compliance for HR department.
  • Assist with Internal job postings and selections.
  • Provide support as needed with non-exempt office and exempt professional recruitment as directed. Provide support regarding selection and interviewing of internal candidates.
  • Responsible for maintaining current job descriptions for office non-exempt and exempt staff.
  • Support and participate in company sponsored employee and community activities via involvement in employee activity team and the JATV Volunteer In-place Program.
  • Responsible for all HR and training related quality, health, safety, and environmental management requirements and maintain privacy of all PHI in accordance with HIPAA
  • Work daily overtime and Saturdays and/or Sundays when directed by immediate supervisor or, as necessary, to complete essential job duties.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position is responsible for supervising three (3) staff members in accordance with policies and procedures.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; leadership experience.
  • Microsoft Office, Word and Excel knowledge required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively on a one-on-one basis, approachable by all employees.
  • Knowledge of current HR laws including ADA, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, TOSHA, EEO, etc.
  • Ability to work routinely on a flexible schedule that supports all shifts.
  • Ability to instill trust and gain respect of others, maintain confidential information, fairness, objectivity, and a sense of humor.
  • Basic knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, or Business with 4–6 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent level of education and related experience.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
  • Sit with intermittent walking with a strong presence on the shop floor.
  • Manual dexterity for such duties as stapling, collating, sorting, filing, typing, and writing.
  • Communicate (hearing and speech) with individuals in person and by phone.
  • Visually read reports, computer screen, etc.
  • Maintain a minimum of 8 hours worked/day, 5 days/week.
