Position Summary
The primary function of the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is to monitor and communicate quality issues for purchased components and assemblies from Containment through 8D closure. This includes evaluation of corrective actions to ensure robustness to prevent re-occurrence. The SQE also is an integral part of our PPAP sample verification and documentation management system. They will work closely with cross functional resources assisting in plant change management processes.
Education, Knowledge, Experience
- Bachelor's degree is required
- 3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in the automotive industry preferred
- Knowledge in manufacturing problem solving (8-D Methodology) and manufacturing processes required
- Knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements including AIAG, APQP, PFMEA, MSA, and PPAP required
- Knowledge of SPC required
- Effective at defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts and drawing valid conclusions. Proficient in general business correspondence to external suppliers.
- Effective communication skills to clearly articulate supplier defect issues and to respond to questions regarding these issues
- Proven ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and/or concrete variables
