Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager at North Mississippi Health Services is a key leadership role responsible for providing operational support and supervisory coverage across multiple Community Hospital locations. This position is designed to ensure continuity in supply chain operations by stepping into the role of a Material Manager when needed. The Supply Chain Manager will be cross trained in all inventory and materials management functions, lead local teams during transitions or absences, maintain supply levels, and uphold standards of efficiency, compliance, and service excellence in support of patient care with clinical and vendor partners.

FUNCTIONS
Community Hospital Support
Supervisory & Operational Support:

Provides interim supervisory leadership and oversight into supply chain operations at Community Hospitals during manager absences or vacancies.

Trains with all Community Hospital Material Managers to understand site-specific workflows, systems, and inventory needs.

Supports onboarding and training of new materials staff as needed.
Inventory & Logistics Management

Oversees receiving, stocking, issuing, and reordering of supplies across departments.

Ensures accurate and timely processing of inventory transactions in Materials Management or ERP systems.

Maintains organized, clean, and compliant storage areas, ensuring proper stock rotation and safety.
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination

Collaborates with clinical teams to assess supply needs and resolve issues.

Interfaces with vendors to manage pricing discrepancies, obtain quotes, and ensure timely deliveries.

Supports capital equipment planning and procurement processes.
Budget & Compliance Oversight

Assists with budget management by identifying cost-saving opportunities and reducing waste.

Participates in annual inventory audits or daily cycle counts and supports data entry and reporting for leadership review.

Ensures compliance with DNV and internal regulatory standards across all assigned locations.
Communication & Reporting

Maintains clear and timely communication with department directors, clinical leaders, and supply chain leadership.

Reports equipment needs, maintenance issues, and supply disruptions promptly.

Documents float assignments and provide feedback for continuous improvement
Main Unit Support

When float coverage is not required at Community Hospitals, provide support at the main unit hospital in one or more of the following areas:
Supply Processing Distribution (SPD)
Logistics
Procurement Offices

Performs duties as assigned to support operational continuity and departmental goals at the main facility.
Travel & Vehicle Requirements

Must be willing and able to travel throughout the Mississippi and Alabama service area of North Mississippi Health Services.

The home base for this position is Tupelo, Mississippi.

A company vehicle will be provided for travel and must be operated in accordance with all NMHS policies and procedures.

If a company vehicle is not available or cannot be used, mileage reimbursement will be provided for travel to Community Hospital locations when personal vehicle is used.
Qualifications
Education

Associate's Degree . Required

High School Diploma or GED Equivalent with at least 4 years of experience in logistics. Required
Licenses and Certifications
Work Experience

1-3 years. 2+ years in healthcare supply chain or inventory management. Preferred
Skills
Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Knowledgeable of computer operations to include word processing, spreadsheets, and must be competent to operate specific Automated Materials Financial Inventory System upon completion of facility-specific training.

The incumbent will have extensive contact with inter and intra departmental personnel, outside vendors and suppliers, physicians and their office personnel, and the general public.
