Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Become the purchasing subject matter expert for the Company. Keep current on any purchasing policy changes and communicate as appropriate.

Own the purchasing process for the Company: NDA verification, e-price negotiation, purchase requisition, purchase order placement, delivery tracking, expediting, shipment coordination, and material discrepancy reporting.

Manage purchase orders, oversee shipping schedules, and maintain purchase records.

Perform vendor research and selection to enhance profitability, reduce operating costs and boost efficiency

Maintain working relationships with vendors and supervise vendor activities.

Enter purchase orders and receipts into JD Edwards (ERP System)

Communicate and negotiate with vendors and sales personnel.
-
Attend daily meetings and communicate issues and recovery plans.
-
Manage stockroom inventory and inventory turns.
-
Generate and interpret reports to review open orders against forecast and lead times.

Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers’ facilities to learn about products, services and pricing

Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company

Verifying purchases by comparing them to standard cost and recommending alternatives.

Interacting with suppliers to schedule delivery times and resolve shipping errors
-
Authorizing payments and maintain receipts, records and inventories
-
Attend industry trade shows to learn about and stay current on trends and to meet suppliers
-
Follow-up with appropriate people and departments as needed to ensure follow-up of each order.

Maintain and update vendor information as necessary.

Meet with manager at regular intervals to discuss new processes and supply chain strategy.
Primary Competencies:
-
2 + years' experience with processes and systems for forecasting, purchasing materials, inventory, stockroom, warehouse preferably within automotive industry.

Strong organizational skills, a good understanding of sourcing and the ability to maintain vendor relationships

Use and interpret data to determine purchasing needs and perform inventory management tasks.
-
Experience with Excel, Word, Power Point, and other business software.

Strong fluent Excel skills are required.

Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with team members, leadership and vendors.
-
Strict attention to detail and accuracy.
-
Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.
-
Legal Contracts review, Agreement Management and Administration, E-Procurement.
-
Associate degree in business administration, supply chain, or relevant field OR comparable work experience.
-
Possesses strong negotiation skills.

Good verbal and written communications skills.

Good math skills and is quickly able to calculate the cost of goods and services.

Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office suite, internet, Adobe, Oracle JD Edwards, as well as varying specific company software platforms; computer (desk and laptop), phone, fax, copier, scanner, and other related office equipment (audio/video/media equipment). Direct experience with JD Edwards preferred.
