Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager, under the direction of the Plant Manager, is responsible for overseeing plant supplies, inventory control, product cost estimation, and vendor management related to custom aluminum extrusions. This role ensures that all new product developments are technically feasible, cost-efficient, and aligned with customer and production capabilities. The Supply Chain Manger will manage the Estimator, and Warehouse Supervisor while coordinating with Sales, Purchasing, Finance and Production to ensure successful project execution from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the Supply Chain Manager are detailed below, but not limited to the following:
· Oversee all activities related to new product design, costing, and manufacturability.
· Research market trends, analyze competitor products, and identify customer needs to inform product strategy.
· Manage and mentor the Estimator and Warehouse Supervisor.
· Ensure plant supplies and warehouse inventory levels / controls are adequate
· Review extrusion drawings and designs for technical feasibility, function, and cost optimization.
· Work with suppliers to source specialized materials, tooling, and die services.
· Collaborate with Sales to translate product concepts into production-ready designs.
· Ensure accurate and timely cost estimates for new projects.
· Manage vendor relationships and approve suppliers for specialized or outsourced processes.
· Review material specifications and ensure alignment with quality and production standards.
· Identify opportunities for product improvement and process innovation.
· Monitor market and customer trends to support new product strategies.
Requirements
Education/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related technical field is preferred
· 5–8 years of experience in product development or supply chain management within manufacturing.
· Experience in aluminum extrusion or custom fabrication is an asset.
· Proven experience managing cross-functional teams.
Technical Skills/Competence
· Strong knowledge of aluminum extrusion design, tolerances, and production processes.
· Proficiency with CAD software and technical drawing interpretation.
· Excellent project management and organizational skills.
· Strong communication and leadership abilities.
· Understanding of material sourcing, vendor management, and cost analysis.
· Creative problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
Pay: $70,000.00 - $88,000.00 per year
