Job Description: Supply Chain Manager – Bus Industry
Role Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain operations for the bus fleet, including procurement of spare parts, vendor management, inventory control, logistics coordination, maintenance support, and cost optimization. The role ensures uninterrupted availability of critical components, timely repairs, and efficient fleet movement to support smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:1. Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for spare parts, tyres, lubricants, tools, and other consumables.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and SLAs to ensure cost efficiency and supply reliability.
- Build strong vendor relationships and track performance and timely deliveries.
- Maintain an approved vendor list and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
2. Inventory & Warehouse Management
- Oversee stock levels for all bus spare parts, repair materials, and consumables.
- Establish minimum/maximum stock levels and reorder points.
- Implement proper storage, stock rotation, and inventory control processes.
- Conduct periodic stock audits, reconciliations, and ensure zero stock-out situations.
3. Logistics & Material Movement
- Ensure timely inward and outward movement of parts from warehouses to workshops.
- Coordinate with transport teams for bulk shipments and emergency part requirements.
- Track shipment timelines and resolve logistical delays.
4. Workshop & Maintenance Coordination
- Work closely with maintenance teams to understand repair needs and forecast part requirements.
- Ensure availability of critical components to reduce vehicle downtime.
- Support preventive maintenance planning with timely procurement of required kits.
5. Cost & Budget Management
- Monitor procurement costs, logistics expenses, and inventory holding costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
- Prepare and manage annual supply chain budgets.
6. Data Management & Reporting
- Maintain accurate purchase records, stock movement logs, GRNs, and invoices.
- Create daily/weekly/monthly MIS reports for consumption, stock status, and vendor performance.
- Utilize ERP or inventory management software for real-time tracking.
7. Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Adhere to company policies, audit requirements, and statutory compliances.
- Maintain safety standards in warehouse operations.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
