- Provide a safe working environment, adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by all employees working in the warehouse.
- Establish warehouse and shipping best practices and KPIs to achieve an efficient warehouse and constantly work to improve processes. Responsible for reporting and communicating KPIs to other departments and leadership.
- Coordinate and oversee all supply chain functions by communicating and working with other departments and outside vendors to ensure proper and timely transport, packaging, and placement of products to be shipped, received or handled.
- Manage demand planning by tracking inventory and ordering raw material and packaging supplies in a timely manner.
- Keeps equipment operating by enforcing operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; requiring preventive maintenance; calling for repairs while always maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Maintain shipping documentation, manifests, and receipts; enter relevant data in reports as needed to ensure that shipment materials match packing lists before dispatching orders.
- Accomplishes warehouse human resource objectives by selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
- Coordinate driver check-in and complete documentation requirements pertaining to domestic and export shipments.
- Supervise and train all forklift operations in the warehouse and shipping departments.
- Keep up to date on the latest federal and state regulations related to safety and import/export shipping compliance.
- Manages spare part stores, packaging material, and raw material inventories
- Assigns reorder points for inventories based on lead times, consumption, and criticality
- Periodically reviews reorder points to ensure they are adequate
- Ensures all customer service requests and orders all fulfilled.
- Audits and manages purchasing efforts to ensure all parts and orders are expedited and delivered on time and budget.
- Minimizes obsolete inventory through periodic monitoring of turns
- Provides inventory analytics to Management
- Assists with physical inventory verification and periodic inventory counts
- Fulfills other duties as assigned
