Purpose and Scope:

The Buyer Planner II is responsible for purchasing production materials, plant and maintenance equipment, supplies and services of a specialized or complex nature in accordance with prescribed purchasing regulations and procedures; reviewing and analyzing purchase requisitions, investigating and developing sources of supplies, issuing RFQ requests, and reviewing quotations. This individual also is responsible for helping maintain various supplier relationships through consistent and regular communication.
Primary Organization Responsibilities:

· Effectively represent the Monteris Medical in its relationships with vendors and suppliers to assure goodwill and continued availability of material.

· Partners with Quality to ensure selection and monitoring of performance meet regulatory and business requirements.

· Review and analyze purchase requisitions, investigate and develop sources of supplies, issue RFQ requests, and review quotations; specializing in assigning material categories and purchasing goods and services consistent with our values.

· Provide assistance to engineering and facilities personnel in preparing Request for Quote (RFQ) documents required for selecting products and suppliers. Provides support in analyzing the quotes and vendor responses.

· Determine and correct problems that exist regarding sources of supply, availability of material and delivery.

· Generate, assist in negotiation, and implement current and future supplier agreements.

· Guide the purchasing activity of assigned commodities with personal involvement in buying complex items requiring specialized knowledge, experience and negotiating skills.

· Monitor the quality of vendor products and deliveries and find alternate sources for vendors that are not performing within Monteris Medical requirements.

· Assist with managing supplier relationships by participating in regular supplier meetings, updating supplier scorecards and keeping the SMT (supplier management team) informed of any supplier activities or concerns.

· Effectively communicates with others within the company.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Education/Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field or equivalent experience in a manufacturing, technical or business environment; medical device preferred

· 3+ years of purchasing/supply chain experience or related field

· 3+ years of experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system; Great Plains preferred

· Strong technical knowledge and understanding of assigned products

· Proficient computer skills including all Microsoft Office Suite products

· Strong preference towards data analytic skills and use of Microsoft PowerBI.

· Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, procedures, within Supply Chain

· Strong communication skills both verbal and written

· Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals to perform a variety of tasks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $69,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
