GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The supply chain specialist is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electronic components and all other materials as needed to support the Ultrasound business and Fairport site.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers of electronic components, ensuring they meet quality and reliability standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure the most favorable terms.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast future supply needs to prevent shortages or overstock supplies utilizing planning tools available in SAP.
  • Order materials for production based on recommendations from MRP and as requested by the production supervisor.
  • Purchase raw materials, equipment, and supplies to satisfy both customer orders and site operations (office supplies, etc).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand component specifications and requirements.
  • Identify parts that are becoming obsolete and work with engineering to identify and order alternative options.
  • Review and analyze purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of components.
  • Expedite material from suppliers when required.
  • Coordinate the return of the rejected material to our suppliers for credit and/or replacement.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Stay informed about market trends, pricing changes, obsolescence of parts, and new suppliers in the electronics industry.
  • Resolve any issues related to procurement, including quality concerns, or delivery delays.
  • Prepare reports on purchasing activities, budget compliance, cost savings and inventory status for management review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the electronics or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
