BASIC PURPOSE AND PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supply Chain Specialist manages daily Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) activities, utilizing a solid grasp of DRP logic to support, execute, and optimize inventory flow for assigned product categories across multiple distribution networks. Leveraging Collaboration, Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) methods, the specialist balances data management with routine root cause analysis and independent problem-solving to optimize inventory levels while mitigating compliance costs and maintaining service levels.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

DRP Cycle Management: Execute the weekly Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) cycle for assigned products, aligning internal allocation processes and customer replenishment forecasts with inbound freight schedules, and coordinating shipments between our warehouses and customer distribution centers.

Analysis & Problem Solving: Conduct root cause analysis for service failures (e.g., stockouts, early/late deliveries, shortages). Propose corrective action with focus on both immediate and long-term planning and communicate DRP exception messages regarding late shipments or receiving discrepancies.

Reporting & KPIs: Generate and maintain monthly/quarterly DRP reports focused on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as customer fill rates, inventory turnover, forecast accuracy, and on-time delivery metrics.

Planning Optimization: Analyze historical sales data and current forecasts to adjust safety stock and reorder points within the planning system.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with warehouse operations teams and act as a liaison between Sales, Sales Planning, and the DRP team to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery of goods and resolve reported issues.

Training & Development: The candidate must be committed to continuous improvement ideals and advancing from proficiency to adeptness and mastery in DRP software and logistics procedures. Assist in training new team members in planning tools and standard operating procedures.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

2-4 years of experience in logistics planning, MRP, DRP, or inventory control.

Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data visualization and complex spreadsheet functions (VBA, SQL, and basic programming knowledge a plus but not required).

Experience using a DRP/ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and WMS software.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems efficiently.
