Responsibilities

The Supply Technician will serve as a key interface between the Center Operations Directorate (COD), the Logistics Management Branch, Center Property Custodians, end users, and program stock owners. This position carries significant responsibility and accountability for the management of equipment, operating materials, and supply inventories across the Center.

Key functional responsibilities include:

  • Develop, document, and maintain procedures for planning, coordinating, and conducting physical inventories in accordance with NASA regulations and local Center requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the Property Team on Government property management functions, including policy review, internal auditing, and regulatory reporting in compliance with NPD 4200.1G and related guidance.
  • Identify discrepancies and develop and implement corrective action plans, ensuring accuracy and continuous improvement in property management processes.
  • Provide training and support to end users on systems such as SAP, NPROP, and DSPL, including developing training materials and conducting instructional sessions.
  • Coordinate inventory schedules to ensure proper validation, readiness, and availability of customers and custodians participating in inventory activities.
  • Interface with the LaRC Supply and Equipment Management Officer (SEMO) on all aspects of Property Control, ensuring alignment with Center policies and requirements.
  • Respond to government action items and taskers, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required deliverables.
  • Conduct internal property audits to verify compliance, identify risks, and maintain the integrity of Government-owned property records.

Qualifications

The Supply Technician must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel across NASA and contractor organizations.

Typical related experience may include positions such as:

  • Item Manager
  • Inventory/Material Management Specialist
  • Equipment Specialist
  • GFP Acquisition Management System Manager
  • Support Equipment Manager
  • Acquisition/Logistics Specialist
  • Supply Analyst/Technician

Candidates at this level must demonstrate full mastery of equipment and material management functions and must be capable of working independently with minimal oversight.

Required Experience

  • Familiarity with NASA property systems, government property control, or federal logistics environments.
  • Experience supporting inventories, corrective actions, or audit-related functions in a regulated or government setting.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in business operations, government property control, asset management, supply chain, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered based on GTS/contract guidelines.

Pay: $32.04 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
