Support Staff

The Support Staff member provides essential, front-line support to clients in a residential or detoxification treatment setting. This role ensures a safe, clean, and supportive environment for individuals undergoing substance use treatment and/or mental health stabilization. Support staff assist with day-to-day operations, monitor client well-being, and help maintain a structured and therapeutic setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Monitoring & Safety:
• Conduct regular wellness and safety checks on clients (e.g., room checks, hourly rounds).
• Monitor and document client behaviors, mood, and adherence to program rules.
• Support clients during crisis situations by following facility protocols (e.g., de-escalation, calling clinical support).
• Administer breathalyzers or urine drug screens per policy and document results.
• Facility Operations:
• Maintain cleanliness and order in shared spaces (kitchen, lounge, group rooms).
• Assist with meal preparation, distribution, and cleanup.
• Ensure the facility is secure, including checking doors, alarms, and visitor logs.
• Complete shift logs, incident reports, and communication notes accurately.
• Client Support:
• Provide compassionate, nonjudgmental support to individuals in detox or early recovery.
• Encourage client participation in program activities and adherence to schedules.
• Assist clients with basic needs such as hygiene supplies, laundry access, or transportation coordination.
• Accompany clients to medical or clinical appointments as needed.
• Team Collaboration:
• Communicate effectively with clinical and medical staff regarding client concerns.
• Participate in shift change handovers, staff meetings, and trainings.
• Follow all confidentiality and HIPAA policies

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
