Support Staff

Summary/Objective: Support staff helps in every facet of our day-to-day operations. From check-in, to scheduling, our support staff make sure our center runs smoothly, and aids patients and staff, in any need possible.

Support Staff Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports the center, in various roles, with various tasks.

  • Help patient’s complete registration process.

  • Schedule patients for follow up or same day appointments.

  • Assist with rooming patients, as needed.

  • Maintain workspace cleanliness, restock clerical equipment, and keep lobby clean.

  • Reviews schedules and reports to confirm patient appointments.

  • Relay information accurately and promptly between patients and staff.

  • Warm hand off any connecting calls between patients, offices, and staff.

  • Perform other tasks, as assigned, or needed by leaders.

Competencies

  • Ability to interact with patients, staff, and physicians in a professional and compassionate manner.

  • Strong clinical knowledge (breast health, medications, etc.)

  • Able to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate the physical, emotional, and educational needs of patients.

  • Advanced knowledge of current screening, diagnostic tools, and treatment options for breast cancer patients.

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong ability to multi-task.

  • Demonstrate strong ability to be flexible and receptive to new ideas and be able to lead and/or participate in change in ever changing breast health situations.

  • Good knowledge of and ability to perform sterile procedures.

  • Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Strong ability to be detail oriented.

Supervisory Responsibility: N/A

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office and/or medical equipment.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use a computer; The employee is occasionally required to sit for prolonged periods; The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. This position may require a variety of hours and possible occasional weekend work.

Education and Experience: High School graduate or equivalent, customer service experience, medical office, terminology and anatomy. Referrals & authorizations experience.
