Job Overview:
We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable Supporting Teachers to assist lead teachers in the Pre-Primary, Primary, and High School sections. The Supporting Teacher will play a vital role in helping to deliver engaging lessons, manage classroom behavior, and provide one-on-one or group support to students across various grade levels.
Key Responsibilities (Common Across All Sections):
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management.
- Support individual students or small groups with differentiated instruction.
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supervise students during breaks, lunch, and extracurricular activities.
- Aid in tracking student progress and communicating observations to the teacher.
- Reinforce positive behavior and encourage student participation.
- Prepare teaching materials and help with displays and learning aids.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and school events as required.
Section-Specific Duties:Pre-Primary (Nursery, Kindergarten, etc.):
- Assist with developing motor skills, early literacy, and social interaction.
- Help with routines like snack time, bathroom visits, rest time, etc.
- Use play-based learning activities to engage children.
- Monitor developmental milestones and emotional well-being.
Primary Section (Grades 1–5):
- Provide support in foundational subjects such as reading, writing, math, and science.
- Assist with classroom organization and behavior management.
- Help children with classroom tasks and encourage independent learning.
- Support learners with special needs or language development challenges.
High School Section (Grades 6–12):
- Support in subject-specific classes (e.g., science labs, language lessons, ICT).
- Assist with homework help, project-based learning, and research.
- Help manage classroom technology and online learning tools.
- Provide academic support, including exam preparation and remedial sessions.
Qualifications and Experience:
Essential:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred for high school support).
- Experience working with children or adolescents in a school or similar setting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to follow directions and show initiative when needed.
Desirable:
- Early Childhood Education (for Pre-Primary), B.Ed. or related qualifications.
- Specialized training in SEN (Special Educational Needs), child psychology, or behavior management.
- Computer literacy and familiarity with digital learning platforms.
Work Environment and Schedule:
- Based on the academic calendar; full-day or shift-based work depending on section.
- Active engagement required with frequent movement and interaction with students.
- Occasional attendance at events or after-school programs may be expected.
