We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Surgeon to join our institution as an Associate Professor in Surgery. The candidate will be responsible for clinical teaching, patient care, research, and academic leadership within the Department of Surgery.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
- Provide high-quality surgical care to patients in accordance with clinical standards
- Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures
- Supervise and guide junior doctors, residents, and interns in clinical settings
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and on-call duties
Teaching & Academic Responsibilities:
- Deliver lectures, clinical teaching, and practical training to undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Develop and update curriculum, teaching materials, and assessment tools
- Conduct clinical demonstrations, case discussions, and seminars
- Supervise postgraduate theses, dissertations, and research projects
- Participate in examinations and student evaluations
Research & Publications:
- Conduct and publish research in recognized peer-reviewed journals
- Guide and mentor students in research activities
- Apply for research grants and contribute to academic advancements
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Participate in departmental meetings and institutional committees
- Assist in accreditation and quality assurance processes
- Contribute to academic planning and program development
- Support departmental leadership and mentor junior faculty
Qualifications & Requirements:
- MBBS with MS (General Surgery) or equivalent recognized qualification
- Minimum 5–8 years of teaching and/or clinical experience in a recognized medical institution
- Strong record of research publications in indexed/peer-reviewed journals
- Experience in supervising postgraduate students and training residents
- Proven competence in a wide range of surgical procedures
- Academic and clinical leadership experience preferred
