Surgery - Cardiovascular Physician

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgery Advanced Practice Professional for locum tenens coverage in Spokane, WA 99204. Starting as soon as possible, the role offers ongoing work with a competitive market rate and full benefits.

DESCRIPTION:

This locum will primarily work in the OR and ICU, with some stepdown patient care. Responsibilities include first assist in cardiothoracic procedures such as robotic lobectomy, coronary artery bypass, valve repairs/replacements, thoracotomy, VATS, LVAD implantation, aortic dissection repair, and ECMO.

Daily workflow includes morning rounds, progress notes, consults, H&P, discharge summaries, chest tube management, and attending multidisciplinary rounds. Call coverage is every third weekday and every fourth weekend, with weekday call covering late cases, CCU calls, and emergency returns.

Schedule: 7a-5p

Call: 5p-7a, every third day on weekdays and every fourth weekend

Team: 4 surgeons, 4 APPs, 1 RN, 1 MA, 1 office staff

EMR: EPIC

Requirements:

Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner board certified

WA active license or compact

Credentialing 60-90 days (clean history may qualify for expedited privileges).
