Position Overview

A leading New Jersey health system is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant specializing in Neurosurgery. This position offers a 50/50 inpatient-outpatient split, dedicated OR time, and direct collaboration with staff Neurosurgeons.

The PA will assist with surgical procedures, manage postoperative patients, and perform outpatient follow-ups. This is a weekday position with no required call, ideal for an experienced neurosurgical PA seeking a stable and well-supported locum role.

Assignment Length: 26 weeks
Over $200K in compensation

Assignment Highlights

• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

• Outpatient Office: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (8 AM-12 PM)

• Inpatient Rounding: Monday-Friday afternoons

• OR Day: Tuesday

• Pediatric Rounds: Friday (HUMC)

• Call: None required (subject to provider need)

• Patient Volume: 9-15 outpatient visits per day; variable inpatient rounding volume

• Procedures: Inpatient only - cervical, lumbar, and subdural hematomas

• Travel & Lodging: Prepaid

• Malpractice Insurance: Covered

• Joint Commission-certified agency

• Pay ranks top 15% nationally for neurosurgery PA locum roles

Skills & Experience

• Active New Jersey Physician Assistant License - required

• CDS and DEA - current and required

• Trauma experience required (mentorship available if limited exposure)

• Minimum 3 years of neurosurgery or surgical PA experience preferred

• Strong inpatient/outpatient and surgical management skills
